What are meditation words?
Meditation words are words that are often used to help the person practising mediation to concentrate better and not get distracted. This is because meditation words give the person something to focus on. Meditation words are spoken repeatedly out loud or mentally, and when this is done the word being repeated will begin to no longer take on its actual meaning and instead will get a new meaning. This change is what the person meditating should concentrate on, and this will help them to focus their mind. This focus can help the person to go into the trace like state which is required for meditation. Crystal energies used with meditation words can help this process to work more effectively.
With meditation words, often how the word sounds is more important than the actual meaning of the word. However words that have an important meaning are also used, particularly when they are used in connection with religion. The word “Om” is often a very popular meditation word because it has a good sound and a significant meaning, as it the word that represents the sound of the universe.
Every person will have their own individual meditation word that will be most effective for them. People that have the same star sign often find that they like words that sound similar or that start with the same letter. For example, the favourite meditation words of two people born under the star sign Capricorn might be “sofa” and “soothe”.
For people that believe in God, religious words such as words from the Bible are often used as a focus for meditation. When people attend church they are often given some meditation words from the Bible or from the morning message of the service they can use to focus on. These words as well as helping them focus are also to assist them in feeling connected to God, and are generally inspirational.
Mantras are often used along with meditation words when meditating. A mantra is word or a phase that creates a sound that is said to be able to create a spiritual transformation. The mantra can be repeated like other meditation words out load or mentally, and can be chanted. Pronunciation is very important with mantras, as like with meditation words, the sound is often more important than the meaning. Because a mantra can prevent the mind from becoming distracted during meditation by focusing it, a mantra can often help the person meditate more easily.
Sometimes when meditating silently, words can appear in the mind, and often the same words appear in multiple meditation sessions. Frequently these words may not be something you recognise or understand initially, and usually one word will appear per session. These words are usually your inner being trying to guide you along your path to enlightenment, the ultimate aim of meditation. The words will often have an important sound and meaning, and should be researched to help you gain clearer knowledge of the truth that is already present within your inner being.
