Meditation can be described as a method of slowing down, with many health benefits for those who practice it regularly. There are many meditation techniques which a person can learn and adopt. The first thing about any meditation technique is that you be able to follow it conscientiously and not find it cumbersome to perform. As you grow more and more calm, you will see the breath becoming less and less necessary, hardly having to breathe at all.
- Duration: Another factor common to all meditation techniques is duration. The amount of time you meditate is completely up to you. It is important to try not to set time goals. Focus on the quality and consistency of your meditations. After time, you will easily find yourself meditating for twenty plus minutes, plenty of time to calm and quiet the mind, body, and spirit.
