meditationGuided Meditation for Higher Meditation Consciousness

Many consider meditation an opportunity for us to let go of resistance and reach our higher consciousness, which we will call meditation consciousness. However, what do we understand through meditation consciousness, how do we define it? Some say that it cannot be defined because meditation consciousness is unique for each individual, it involves a person’s consciousness while meditating and the way it develops in those particular moments.

The Benefits of Meditation Consciousness

Meditation has many benefits, which some consider not the main purpose of meditation, but rather side effects. Individuals who regularly meditate are more calm, alert and aware. Many individuals who wish to reach a meditation consciousness state want the perceived benefits, including needing less sleep at night, improved health, and a greater sense of calmness. With a broad definition of meditation, it is easy to understand the existence and importance of hundreds of techniques. Some are easier to learn; some are more supporting than others are; some lead to long-term practice.

One Approach is Guided Meditation

A common method is guided meditation, where a voice guides the process. The voice is usually one of someone else, but can also be your own voice. Many seem to feel more relaxed and have a clearer mind when using the support and guidance of another’s voice. Simplicity is more helpful than difficult words and ideas, and a soothing voice is more helpful to a meditative state than a harsh sounding one. A greater depth of meditation is reached with a slow pace of sounds, rather than a fast one. To go into a deeper meditation consciousness, regular practice is key.

How to Enhance Your Guided Meditations

Whether you wish to guide yourself, lead others with your voice, or let others guide you, here are some suggestions to reach your meditation consciousness state:
  • Align with the Divine. Words easily flow through us when we are in touch with our higher meditation consciousness.
  • Establish an intention. Guided meditation begins with stated intentions that are perfect in depth and sound, even if the words are not spoken. Good statements of intention are simple, including “to increase awareness”, “to align with the divine”, or “to relax”.
  • Be present. As a new meditator, you may be worried about saying the right words. A successful guided meditation is more than words. A well-edited script is not needed to reach meditation consciousness when you show up fully ready, willing, and able. Breathe. Breathe yourself or instruct others to do so, as this enhances relaxation. Although some meditation teachers have strict breathing rules, its best to keep it simple. Slowly breathe in and out.
  • Be conscious of energy. You should be able to see, feel and sense energy. If you cannot, invite clarity in. If you continue to feel resistance, give extra attention to comfort and relaxation.
