A Quick Guide To Using Meditation Balls
If you have tried meditation before then you may well be aware of the fact that you can use tools and techniques to help you improve your concentration and access the vast array of benefits available. One such way to improve your concentration and focus is by using meditation balls. Meditation balls are small chrome balls that you hold in your hand in order to provide a focus during meditation. They also have a range of other uses within meditation and, for those reasons, they are becoming more and more common.
Meditation balls can be used not only to improve concentration but also to build the strength in your fingers, decreasing stress and improving the blood flow. The latter can of course boost your immune system as well as making you feel much healthier. As they are neither heavy nor of an awkward size, people of all ages can use meditation balls to great effect and have a positive effect on their lives. However, they have their greatest use during various types of meditation if you know how to use them properly.
Before learning how to use meditation balls, you should find out exactly which ones you need because there are various kinds available to go with different forms of meditation, such as Zen and Taoist meditation, to name just two! None of the meditation balls are expensive and you can get a pair for very little. As soon as you have them, you can start to learn how to use them.
Using meditation balls is easy enough. All you have to do is put them in the palm of your hand with one at the base of your fingers and one resting just to the side of the ball of your hand. When you feel comfortable holding them, gently move your thumb towards the ball nearest your wrist and push gently on it, moving it towards your ring finger. You should push the meditation balls so that they are moving in a circular motion, always moving the bottom ball away from the thumb.
The motion of the meditation balls should always be smooth and ensure that they touch each other at all times. As such, you might want to start off at a steady pace and slowly increase that as you become more confident. You should feel free to use your fingers to help the meditation balls on their way because the second ball will block your thumb after you have pushed the first ball so far.
Although meditation balls are largely used during meditation, you can literally use them whenever you like after you have learned all of the above. You do not need to be meditating but can instead just use them if you feel a little stressed. Ideally, you should be seated when using them but can also use them when you are walking if you so wish. No matter how or where you use them, you will soon find that they really help you during meditation and whenever else you feel stress. A quick release is often welcome and the meditation balls provide the means to do just that.
