You can increase your perception through regular meditation as you learn to listen, feel and explore your senses. Meditation teaches you to become aware of your senses, including sight and hearing, as well as teaches you to focus on your internal senses such as intuition and perception. As you continue with meditation, you will find that your visual and auditory perception is increased and becomes fine tuned, as well as your internal perception. You may also notice you become more in tune to the feelings and emotions of others.
When the mind is hurried and the body is under the affects of stress, it is hard to pay attention to the information the senses gives us. Learning how to calm and still the mind will enable you to experience the senses and absorb the information they are sending. In the same manner you will quiet the mind and absorb the information your inner being is sending out. This ensures that your perception increases in both internal and external stimuli.
When the body, mind and spirit operate in harmony and unison you will readily absorb information from all of your senses. You’ll find that your meditation sessions are no longer a struggle between trying to quiet the noise and confusion inside your mind, but rather they are a learning session where you are absorbing data collected from your new perception skills. This may include the blueness of the sky as you are meditating and truly in the moment to the sound of crickets chirping outside of your window. It may also include the inner voice that speaks loudly regarding issues that you must correct or rectify.
Whether dealing with external or internal stimuli, meditation increases your perception.
