meditationThe Evolution Of Consciousness Throughout Human History

If you look at the history books, it is well documented about just how far us humans have come. We all have the images of cavemen with huge beards and masses of hair in our heads but times have most definitely changed. We have evolved physically and in terms of technology but do you know how we have developed mentally? There has been little work done on it until the last fifty or so years but an important aspect to examine is the evolution of consciousness. Most people believe that the evolution of consciousness relates directly to meditation and it does to a certain extent but it also relates to state of mind.

The evolution of consciousness relates directly to how aware of the self we are as humans and individuals alike. Self awareness can help every individual to develop personally and improve upon relationships but did you know that the evolution of consciousness began when the first human evolved, was created or was born, depending on your beliefs. However, we still do not have the full evolution of consciousness within our species because we still take consciousness for granted. In fact, some people do not give its existence credit at all.

That is not to say that everyone misses out on the extraordinary benefits of the evolution of consciousness because some have embraced it with open arms. The Buddha, the Dalai Lama and mystics everywhere are all valid examples of people, of beings, that have fully accepted the evolution of consciousness and used it to their own personal advantage. This is not a selfish act but one that has aided their spiritual development as they have achieved a higher consciousness thanks to the knowledge that evolution and the consequent research has yielded.

If all of the above sounds complex to you then do not switch off because the evolution of consciousness is easy to understand when broken down. The evolution of consciousness was all about the mind. The human being was allegedly the first being to think for him or herself above and beyond the survival instinct. As some began to believe that there was more to life and experience spirituality, the knowledge of how to elevate the mind and soul was passed on down generations. Each generation discovered little more and found new levels of consciousness to explore. Religion was used to explain it, mystics wrote about it and people benefitted from the evolution of consciousness, as they continue to do today.

Today, there are far more people rejecting the sense of selfishness that society seems to have adapted. However, they could not do so if it were not for the evolution of consciousness and the individuals that have worked hard so that we can all benefit today. If you want to understand more and use the theory of the evolution of consciousness then it is worth doing a little homework about meditation and yoga. After all, we can learn so much from centuries of enlightened individuals so why not capitalise on that in a bid to find your higher self?
