Energy is all around us and in everything we do and see. Energy is everything and if you stop and take a second, you can feel the energy surrounding us. Energy meditation is a way to really feel the energy and use it to revitalize our own well being. We use so much energy during the day that some days we lie in bed feeling completely drained. Energy meditation is a way to take the energy from the world around us and use it to refresh and recharge.

Meditation is not a new concept; it has been around for ages. Recently, the practice of meditation has become more and more commonplace, and for good reasons. People are realizing the healing powers of meditation. Meditation calms the body down, relives stress and anxiety, and allows the body to fully relax. Meditation can also ease medical ailments. The main point of meditation, no matter how it is done, is to quiet down the mind and relax the entire body. This calm, relaxing feeling leads to deep contemplation and reflection and when you are done, you are left feeling more energized and completely relaxed.

Energy meditation falls under the many categories of meditation. The thing that makes it different from other forms is the method of pulling in the energies around you and using them. The imagination is a powerful tool and it will be used throughout the meditation process. Its main job is to imagine the energy in the things around you and inside you.

The process is quite simple. First sit in a comfortable spot making sure your back and spine are straight; this pushes the air and energy throughout the entire body. Next, breathe in and out silently but as normal and natural as possible. As you inhale, imagine the energy around you filling your lungs and moving through the body. Use the imagination and picture everything around you becoming small particles of energy, energy you will breathe in as you inhale. As you exhale, this energy will fill and expand your aura. Continue the energy meditation for 20-25 minutes. As the energy meditation comes to an end, imagine the world around you regaining its natural shape and sizes. The energy particles are slowly going back into place. When you open your eyes, you should feel relaxed and energized.

Energy meditation also holds healing powers. Begin the meditation the same way, but as you exhale instead of filling your aura, direct the energy to the areas that need healing. If you have an illness, direct the energy towards that area. If your head is pounding, direct the energy to your head, neck, and behind the eyes. The energy creates soothing and healing powers. Total relaxation of the body leaves you open to accepting the energies around you.

Once you have completed the energy meditation, you will feel not only relaxed but confident and energized, ready to take on the rest of the day. Practice energy meditation before bed and allow the body a great night’s sleep.

Energy meditation is a great form of meditation. It takes the energy around us and allows us to use it for healing or ultimate relaxation. In time and with practice, energy meditation will easily become a part of your normal meditation routine.
