Finding Inner Peace Through Buddha Meditation
From the very beginning, man has always strove for two things, worldly material possession and inner peace. Interestingly, both contradict each other as the goals are opposite as well as the paths. Acquisition of wealth causes an increase in discontentment where as inner peace makes a person contented with what little they have.
Gautama Buddha gave up his life of plenty for inner peace and taught the world that the biggest wealth is not in treasures and gold, but in mental harmony, love for others and happiness. He understood these principles well when he taught his pupils 2500 years ago. These essences of life are still available for the world to learn through what is called Buddhist Meditation, and often called Buddha Meditation.
According to Buddha Meditation teachings all evil and good are present in our minds and our body follows the directions per the condition of our mind. If the mind is corrupt then our words and deeds will be evil. If we condition our minds to be good then we actually purify ourselves making our words and deeds automatically become good . Only then will true happiness become part of our existence.
To achieve inner peace Buddha Meditation teaches us that the basic fundamentals of our existence are body, mind, and emotion. Most people in today's society are somewhat aware of body and emotion, however, the awareness of mind is missing. This is where Buddha Meditation comes in. With practice, one develops higher states of consciousness and awareness while awakening the higher self bringing the body, mind and emotions in harmony with each other.
Buddha Meditation trains us to control our minds, eliminating distractions while cleansing our thoughts. In the process, Buddha Meditation helps gain access to our higher self bringing dynamic balance between our emotions and personality. Once successful, we fill with happiness and joy giving us life's biggest treasure - inner peace.
These days, there are some who say that ritual has been replaced by self discipline, faith replaced by insight, and that prayer has been replaced by understanding. This makes Buddha Meditation a very convenient way to meditate.
However, in order to derive the most benefit from the teachings of the wise Buddha, Buddha Meditation should be studied, understood and practiced in totality to find the true and complete essence of the teachings. Reading a few books on Buddha Meditation or spiritual guidance from a mentor can both be helpful.
There is no doubt that Buddha Meditation is unparalleled if your goals are to achieve higher states of awareness, consciousness, and to find that much sought after inner peace.
