Brainwave Control and Meditation
If you have ever meditated, you know that there are different times during your meditation that you feel different. You also know that there are also different targets for
meditation. What you may not know is that these targets are actually specific brainwave frequencies that your brain produces depending on your level of consciousness. By learning about these frequencies and what they do, you can learn brainwave control, which will allow you to target a specific brainwave frequency in order to achieve certain goals.
There is still a lot that we don't know about how the brain works, but there is scientific proof that the brain produces electrical frequencies that can be compared to the way that a radio signal is sent out. During certain periods of sleep and wake time throughout the day, a person's brain will emit frequencies that are measured in Hertz. The strength of the Hertz determines which state of consciousness that your brain is in. There are four main frequencies that the brain will produce, and once you learn about these frequencies, you will understand more about brainwave control. Starting from the time when you are in a deep sleep and working all the way to complete awareness when you are wide awake, the four frequencies are Delta, Theta, Alpha, and Beta.
The Delta frequency is experienced when you are sleeping. At the 0.5 Hz level, you are in a dreamless sleep, but at the 4 Hz level, you are still deeply asleep yet dreaming. The higher Hertz measurement indicates a slight raise in brain activity. Many scientists and doctors believe that most of the
natural healing that your body undergoes is done during this time. Your mind has the ability to deal with any issues, and your physical condition will gradually improve. It is possible, with the right amount of meditation and experience, to use brainwave control to access the benefits of this frequency without actually being asleep.
The Theta frequency is the next stop in the cycle. Have you ever driven home and not remembered actually driving? Have you ever found yourself sitting among a pile of laundry that has been neatly folded and not remember performing the task? You were likely experiencing the effects of the Theta state. This frequency occurs between 4 Hz and 7 Hz, and is also often the cause of daydreaming. Scientific evidence theorizes that this frequency is also the control center for creative processes. If this is true, brainwave control can help you open new creative channels in your mind.
The third frequency is Alpha, which occurs between 7 Hz and 13 Hz. During the Alpha state, the mind and body are relaxed, but yet you are still alert and aware. This state is the main target of most people who meditate because it offers the relaxation that is needed for stress relief. It is also commonly accessed when someone undergoes hypnosis. When you are still learning how to meditate effectively, brainwave control can teach you how to access this state of consciousness much
quicker and easier.
Finally, we come to the Beta frequency. This frequency is the highest. It is the time when you are completely awake and focusing abilities are as sharp as a tack. You feel like you can accomplish anything. At 13 Hz to 30 Hz, this frequency is the common target for learning brainwave control and how to access this state while your mind is in another state. This is mainly because people are always looking for ways to increase what they are capable of completing throughout the day, but this target frequency is also used in the treatment of some more common problems, like attention disorders, issues with thinking logically, and people who have trouble staying actively engaged in conversation.
