meditationAscension: Meditation’s Ultimate Goal

Fortunately for us and our planet, we are slowly returning to a lifestyle that tends to be more natural and relies less on activities that pollute the planet, our bodies, and our minds. While there’s still much to do, the re-discovery of practices such as natural diets and meditation make us less dependent on chemicals for keeping our bodies and minds healthy.

Meditation has become increasingly popular because one of its main benefits includes the reduction of stress and anxiety, which are too common in today’s hectic world. In addition, when it substitutes medication such as Prozac, it also eliminates the side effects that these drugs cause, such as nausea and insomnia.

People who integrate meditation in their lives do so in different degrees. For some of them it’s just a hobby that they practice from once in a while, while for others it’s an integral part of their daily schedule and their beliefs. For many of the later ones, Ascension is the ultimate meditation state which they aspire to achieve.

As you can imagine, Ascension isn’t available to everyone. In fact, there are some people, including some meditation practitioners who don’t believe in the existence of the state of Ascension. This is due to the rarity of people who achieve Ascension and the number of frauds that claim to have reached Ascension but haven’t or that promote or sell “shortcut” methods that can make people reach Ascension much faster. These methods invariably turn out to be fake.

It takes years of practice and preparation before practitioners attempt to achieve Ascension. It requires both a strong and trained mind and a healthy body. It is not recommended for people who get easily distracted or that want results fast. In addition, the person has to do some exercise regularly and must give up any type of drugs, such as alcohol and tobacco. People who can’t or don’t want to submit to these requirements are better off practicing easier meditation techniques which will give them benefits in a faster way, such as less stress or improved breathing.

Given these demands of dedication and time, why would anyone want to reach ascension? Well, the easy answer is to say that Ascension is a state of total awareness and joy reached through training and meditation. Of course, Ascension is a bit difficult to understand, and without proper understanding, there’s little motivation to achieve it. First of all, you have to believe in its existence, and secondly, you have to believe that you’re capable of achieving it. One way of explaining Ascension is by linking it to other more well known meditation terms, such as Nirvana, Union with the Universe, and Enlightenment. People who achieve it acknowledge it as the greatest experience they’ve ever had, while others find it very hard to understand its exact nature aside from the fact that it would make them feel “very happy.” Perhaps the best way to understand ascension is to test a bit of it. After you finish your regular meditation session, consider how you feel and the benefits you’re getting. Do you feel happier, more relaxed, or less stressful? Do you see lasting results like reduction of health problems? Now imagine if these sensations were greatly heightened and lasted far much longer. Perhaps this is the best way to understand what Ascension would be like.
